04-Jul-2000 -- I found myself passing within a few miles of the 31-94 confluence on my way back to Houston from Toledo Bend Lake. The terrain is hilly with pine trees. Oil well service roads are common in the area as well as logging roads so there are many well groomed gravel roads running through the back country. I was fortunate to find a graded road that passed within 500 feet of the confluence.
