12-May-2001 -- After visiting two confluences in Austria this was my first in Scotland. We went up the west coast and this one was just a few miles beside the road. The weather was sunny and warm, so I thought that it would be no problem. But there was a big one. The road was closed because of foot and mouth disease precautions. So we had to walk for one hour through deep and dense forest. We found a small forest track which leads us about 120 metres to the confluence. The last 120 metres had been terrible. The young trees were so dense that it was almost impossible to get there. I needed about half an hour for this 120 metres. But the landscape was really great.
