13-Apr-2001 -- We have a cottage in Harrison and found out this confluence is only about 10 miles from it. Every year on Good Friday I go up to "open up" the cottage and thought I would hit this confluence. I had some company this year, my dad came with me as he offered to pull our new boat up to the cottage with "his" truck. The confluence looked easy to get to from maps, west out of town on highway 61, and south down a dirt road. The maps were wrong, and the dirt road we were going to take ended up being a dead end. We backtracked and found another dirt road a little east of that to take.
It was a beautiful day, about 65 and sunny, which is great for April in northern Michigan. I figured it would take about 10-15 minutes to grab this confluence. With me driving, it would have, with dad driving "his" truck, it took about 25 minutes just to get to it. He doesn't like his truck to get dirty, so he drives really slow on dirt roads, even though its an F-150 Supercrew 4x4. It should be in one of the pictures.
The actual confluence was in someone's back yard. If you look at the pictures it is where the tree on the right is. I got about 50 feet from it because I could see some people in the house looking out at me so I did not want to go in their back yard.
