11-May-2001 -- I tried this confluence by driving west from the grain
elevator at Elida, NM- the picture shows what the road
looked like with about 3 km yet to go. This was taken from
a windmill/cattle watering tank nearly due north of the
confluence. I didn't want to get a flat or high-center the
truck that far from civilization, and the route to the
likely alternate approach was a 20-mile backtrack to Elida.
The best approach to this confluence is probably on CR2,
west from Kenna, and then north on CR16. The roads aren't
marked, though; these are names in deLorme's atlas. Take
water and hiking shoes!
