#1: Looking north over the spot.

(visited by Tom McMurray)

25-Jun-2001 -- I, Tom McMurray, went back to Goose Creek, South Carolina to the Security Office for the Navy Weapons Depot to again ask for permission to re-enter the Depot and to take another photo on the 33N 80W confluence. I again had to explain my mission to another Security Office person. He in turn went to another room and talked to someone that remembered my last visit into the Depot and gave this new person the OK to get me an escort into the Depot and to the site. Much appreciated and didn't take too long.

A Navy enlisted person, E-5 Leo Reid from North Carolina was assigned to take me back into the Depot to the 33N 80W site. I didn't remember how to get to the site and he did not know how to get there either. So after going through the main gate we just followed the Garman eTrex back to the site. We wound up on a very rough road (an old railroad bed). Had to go into four wheel drive to get turned around and out of this obviously wrong place. After driving around a little we found the correct dirt road to get to the confluence. After returning to the site I walked out to where the site is and took two photos. After returning to the Security Office parking lot E-5 REID let me take his photo by the pick-up truck he had driven me to the site in.
