05-Jul-2001 -- The first two roads we tried for getting to this confluence were deadends. So after checking the maps, we decided to try Freighter Gap Road on the east side of the confluence. From there we found an unnamed road that looked like it headed in the right direction. This turned out to be the right road. Along the way we passed two abandoned homesteads that probably haven't been lived in for 70 years. After driving a short distance past the second homestead we parked and walked through the sagebrush to the confluence.
