20-Aug-2001 -- This confluence is not far from the South Canadian River southwest of Taloga in Western Oklahoma. There is a gravel oil-well road that leads from the county road to within 1/4 mile of the confluence. From the oil-well road, there's a narrow path to a plowed field. Chances are, the field is planted in wheat from September to June. We parked at N35 59.990 W36 00.000 and walked 60 feet to the confluence. There is nothing to confuse the receiver and I averaged the location on my Garmin eMap and Garmin StreetPilot III. I have a high degree of confidence in the location.
We arrived at the confluence at 6:45 pm. The temperature was still in the high 90's, but there was a nice southerly breeze blowing 10-15 MPH. It was a good excuse to drive around an area we rarely see, have a few cold beers, and visit with an old friend.
