#1: The confluence from Harney Peak

(visited by Curt Christiansen and John Alcantra)

18-Jun-2001 -- (continued from 44N104W)

From the top of Harney Peak (pic #4), the highest point in South Dakota, I took photos looking off towards this confluence (pic #1). I used my GPS and its GOTO function to line it up, then we hiked back to the car and drove to the point, reaching it after dark (pics #2 & #3). The point was either right next to the stop sign or in the middle of the road. The road had too much traffic to stand out in it for a photo. Today we had only reached 4 points (see also 44N104W, 45N103W, and 46N103W) but we also climbed the highest peak in South Dakota and visited Mt. Rushmore (pic #6).
