11-Aug-2001 -- This was my first confluence visit. Since the area is full of dirt trails I decided it would be fun to ride dirt bikes in. My dad and I drove in as close as we could on the paved road and then proceeded on the motorcycles for about 40 miles. From there we still had 4 miles to the confluence. So we parked the bikes and proceeded on foot. The hike started out hot and sunny but luckily some clouds came in and the rest of the hike was much cooler. We made it to the confluence and quickly snapped some pictures so we could make it back before dark. By the time we had hiked back to the motorcycles it was dark and we had no choice but to sleep on the ground with no camping gear. It was a bit chilly but we survived. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience and I hope to visit more confluences in the future.
