29-Sep-2001 -- We were driving from Denver to Phoenix, and as we were driving down 285, we noticed that we were getting close to a confluence. When we passed the confluence, we turned into a trailer park. At the back of the park, a trail led off into the woods. We walked down a trail, through a gate that said "Now enterng Forest Service land", across a meadow, and over a point, and down to the confluence.
Later we found out that there was a forest service road that would have brought us to within 100 feet of the confluence, instead of the two mile hike. Such are the perils of "spur of the moment" confluence hunting.
