01-Dec-2001 -- After finding our first confluence point, 46N 20E in Yugoslavia two weeks ago, in this weekend we decided to reach the second one, but now in Croatia. This point wasn’t far from our home city Pécs/Hungary, but we started the day very early. At 7 a.m. we were already on the way. After 9 a.m. we left Đurđevac, the nearest town from the point. By the maps the point is almost 3 km/2 miles from the road, but there was a sign of thin path to the point. Surprisingly this path was an excellent and paved road in a nice valley. At the and of the road we have found a little village, Sveta Ana, which wasn’t on the map even. In the village there were only few houses, a nice water-mill and two ostriches!!!
The 46ºE line was just crossed the village, but the confluence point should be on the top of the hills around the village. With a little climbing we have found the point on the top of the hill in the forest.
After the successful finding we have taken a little walking in the village and have eaten our sandwiches. We were thinking about finding another confluence, which were only 120 km/80 miles far from this point, but because of the short winter days we cancelled this trip. Maybe on another weekend...
