03-May-2002 -- We woke up early (04.30 am) at the hotel in Sollefteå. Today was the day! Three confluences at one day, at least that was the plan (se confluence 63N 17E, and 63N 16E)!

We had some breakfast, and started the journey against the first point; just outside Björksele, a small town located between Junsele and Åsele in Västerbottens County (se the map).

After some driving around we finally found the bumpy road that would take us just 420 meters from the confluence. (You must understand, there is few roads in the wilderness, and to find a road that leads us close to a confluence is pure luck!) We parked our car and walked out into the nature. There was a lot of water (melted snow). The snow had melted in just a few weeks time, so the ground was totally saturated, and could not handle any more. Where are the bathing shorts when we needed them…

64N 17E was right in the woods, at 342 meter above sea level, and luckily we did not need to start from zero (because of all the water), the climb was just 45-50 meters.

The confluence itself was not that beautiful, but to have found the place, with the help of a small gadget that shows just some figures and numbers! Wow, what an invention!

We stayed at the confluence for half an hour and took these pictures. Then we came back to the car, and headed for the next confluence, 63N 17E!
