29-May-2002 -- I had a spare few days and decided to take a mini-tour of Southern Minnesota, and visit a few confluences along the way. The cool, damp spring had left the countryside lush, so I hoped to capture some green pictures. The scenery was wonderful as I left Minneapolis and drove down the Upper Mississippi, then took backroads through Whitewater State Park and Wildlife Refuge.
The confluence itself was in a field of finger-high corn just 50 meters south-west of the intersection of Winona County Roads 37 and 115. There was a knee-high barbed wire fence, probably to keep out ATV riders, but no "No Trespassing" signs. So, I stepped over and carefully walked through the field to take the pictures.
