30-May-2002 -- Two hours after visiting (44°N 95°W) I reached this confluence, another muddy beanfield. It lay several hundred meters from the road, but there was a grassy fenceline that ran close, and the ground was slightly drier so I went for it.
Afterwards I visited Blue Mound State Park, and Pipestone National Monument, both close to this confluence. You couldn't tell from the pictures of farm fields, but Southern Minnesota was actually scenic, but it is difficult to do the prairie justice in a photograph. Here is my try, looking west from the top of Blue Mound.
