02-Aug-2002 -- The conditions for my confluence point hunt couldn't have been better. The sun was shining from a clear sky with some 20 degrees celsius. The fact that there were hardly any mosquitoes after a dry summer in Finland made the trip even more enjoyable.

I found out about confluence.org from a friend, who has 'discovered' one of the points in the southern part of Finland. And as I was going to Ii to my wife's family gathering and noticed that there was an unvisited confluence, I decided to go for it..

After a very enjoyable walk (1.96km) and a brief swim over a stream I was able to locate the confluence with a little help from the gps that I had borrowed for the occasion. As a map I had only a street map of the whole of Finland, which didn't quite illuminate the surroundings of the concluence. Although I have to admit that it was easier to find the confluence itself than to find the shortest route by car to the vicinity of it!

But anyway the trip was a success and the family gathering the next day was also very nice!
