#2: Read 'em and weep? (For whatever reason, weep!) #3: Tricking your buddies into falling in a river is a minor joy of hill-walking. #4: A track-log. Or, to put it another way, I really should have had a map as well <G>. #5: Looking at the other hill on the skyline. #6: We've got lost in this area before.

#1: Repeat of Richard Webb's shot. I think he was standing up; I was squatting.

(visited by Aidan Karley)

01-Sep-2002 -- I've posted the main details at http://www.karley.org/KGB-MC/Cock-Cairn/cock-up.html#pointlessness

In short, some friends and I were heading off for a walk up the hill. I noticed the magic little blue cross on the map, remembered about the DCP, and instantly re-arranged my days activities to a more worthwhile aim. Photo at http://www.karley.org/KGB-MC/Cock-Cairn/20020901-0447-proof-57N-003W-Lochnagar.JPG

Where was I? Yeah - walked up there, got soggy feet, photographed a few things, got back to the car 2 hours before the hill-walkers and was having a pint while the rest of the lads were thrashing around in the dark wishing they had a torch. Bliss!
