27-Oct-2002 -- On our way back from the Rhodes mountain bike race Ferdi and I planned to follow 27E most of the way and try and visit 31S 27E, 30S 27E, 28S 27E and 27S 27E along the way - four confluences in one day.

After doing 30S 27E, we continued past Wepener, Hobhouse, Tweespruit, Excelsior, Winburg and Virginia towards Hennenman. 28S 27E lies just 120 meters off the road just before Hennenman and just past the Whites cement factory. This Confluence had been visited before, but then the visitors had to struggle through a sunflower field. Now the field was freshly ploughed and it was an easy walk to the exact point. We got there by 14h40. Next stop 27S 27E.
