28-Dec-2002 -- This confluence forms part of an eleven-confluence journey that starts at 27°S 150°E.
We left out motel in St George at about 5:30 a.m. heading east along the Balonne Highway towards Cunnamulla. About 10 kilometres after Boolba, which you could miss if you blinked, we turned off on a dirt road just before reaching 148°E. There was a smaller track off to the left about 400 metres off the highway that we took. This got us to within about 600 metres of the confluence which I did on foot. As it happens the primary dirt road would’ve got us within about 200 metres I discovered later.
After walking through some light scrub, the confluence appeared in an open field with some cattle and sheep grazing nearby. With it being so early in the morning, the sun was quite low and directly behind a small cluster of cattle 100 metres away from the confluence. As a consequence of this, the photo of the cows is pretty ordinary.
