05-Jan-2003 -- After my unsucessful attempt at 32N 103W, I headed back home to San Antonio. I noticed that my intended route back home took me very near the 31N 102W confluence. As it appeared to be very near TX 349, I thought "why not" and figured I could hit it before the final push home. As I headed south on 349 the road approached the confluence to within 900m. Having just passed a gravel road, I turned around, drove back to the gravel road and headed down it. Looks like this is more oil field country as this gravel road was an oil field road. Turned south on another road, then east along another road that looked to be an unintended gully for water when it rains. Turned south again along more of a dirt than gravel road. Now I was within 450m of the confluence. It was an easy walk across the flat field to the confluence. I took four compass point pictures (north - #1, east - #2, south - #3, west #4). As you can see this part of Texas does have some hills. The hills to the west were quite covered with giant windmills -- obviously a huge wind energy farm (unfortunately the sun was getting low on the horizon and so my west picture didn't come out very well and so you can't see the windmills). Last picture is of my GPS receiver.
