We had been to Recife for vacation and decided to rent a car to go a bit more inland in order to visit some confluences.

This confluence was the last after 8S35W, 8S36W, 8S38W and an attempt of 8S39W. Compared to the others, this confluence gave only few problems. We drove southeast from Garahuns into the state of Alagoas where we saw mainly green sugar cane planatations on many hills and some patches of tropical rainforest. Using the highway we managed to get about 3.5 kilometers from the confluence. From there we took a smaller not paved road and drove as close as 2 kilometers where we parked the car.

The land was empty, different to the other confluence points of the region we met almost nobody.

After walking for 1 hour on the tracks through green hills of sugar cane planatations we managed to approach the confluence 160 meters here we took pictures #6 and #7. From there we had to leave the track. The confluence was in the middle of a sugar cane field on top of a hill. That´s why we had a beautiful view from there (picture #1 up to picture#5).

Between the fields in picture #2 you can see the rest of the original vegetation of this area : the Mata Atlantica, a tropical rainforest that once covered all coastal regions of Brazil. Later we went into the forest and took another picture (picture #8), it was about 500 meters from the confluence.

Estivemos em Recife para passar nossas férias e decidimos alugar um carro para conhecer um pouco de interior e também para visitar algumas confluências.

Esta confluência foi a última após 8S35W, 8S36W, 8S38W e uma tentativa da 8S39W. Comparando-se às outras, esta confluência quase não nos deu problemas para ser alcançada. Dirigimos para o sudoeste em direção a Garanhuns, e após para o estado de Alagoas, onde principalmente vimos plantações de cana-de-açúcar, e nas pequenas montanhas, florestas tropicais.

Através da estrada, conseguimos chegar a 3.5 km de distância desta confluência. Logo após, por meio de uma pequena estrada que não era pavimentada, conseguimos chegar a 2 km de distância e estacionamos o carro.

A região era vazia, diferentemente das outras confluências, não encontramos quase ninguém na nossa frente.

Após andarmos 1 hora nas trilhas, vendo o belo verde das plantações de cana-de-açúcar, conseguimos nos aproximar 160 metros da confluência e neste local tiramos as fotos #6 e#7. Neste ponto, tivemos que sair da trilha. A confluência estava no meio da plantação de cana-de-açúcar no topo de uma montanha. Esta é a razão de termos conseguido uma vista muito bonita da paisagem nas fotos (foto #1 a foto #5).

No meio das plantações, na foto #2, vocês podem ver o restante da vegetação do local: a Mata Atlântica, uma floresta tropical que uma vez no passado cobriu toda a extensão territorial costeira do Brasil. Em seguida, fomos até a floresta e tiramos outra foto (foto #8), que se encontrava a 500 metros de distância da confluência.
