10-Aug-2003 -- We tried to reach this point last December, but the combination of Norway, winter, snow and wind should not be underestimated. So we waited and waited, and finally I went on another visit to Stavanger and my brother Erlend.
On Sunday we were going from Stavanger to Oslo by car, and made a stop in the middle of the mountains on our way there. We had looked at maps and estimated the distance from the road to the point to be a little more than 1 km. According to our map it shouldn't be too much of a height difference either.
Righty-ho.
It took us a good three hours to get from the car to the confluence and back, and along the way we encountered hills and mountains so steep even the riders from Tour de France would have had to let go of their bikes and started climbing.
But in the end we got there. Too bad the point wasn't 100 meters further north. It would have been a spectacular view in the middle of the steepest mountainside, with a bunch of stupid sheep looking at us and a small river running by.
