16-Aug-2003 -- Started from Boliden at 5.30 a.m. and arrived in Inndalen farm in Bryggfjelldalen at 12.30. Elevation was 350 m and the weather was good, about 20 degrees Celsius and a very light wind. The distance from the farm to the confluence point was indicated by the GPS to be 3.19 km, as the crow flies. I started to walk on a tractor road at 1.10 p.m. and ascended rapidly to the tree limit near Sjurfinnheimen cottage, about half way to the confluence.
Crossed the little stream Bjuråga and continued on a footpath towards Gråfjellhytta until I was on a small ridge at elevation about 660 m and 217 m due north of the confluence. The overview picture from this point on the footpath shows 8 confluence visitors to the right and the confluence among the black cliffs to the left. The exact point is to the right of the cliff with a white carbonate layer, just above and a little right of the smallest of the three almond-formed black cliffs.
I walked up to the confluence point at 705 m elevation and took the pictures in the four directions and of the GPS, then continued uphill (to the right on the overview picture) until I reached a plateau above the cliffs. I found a footpath, passing only 67 m from the confluence point, but about 50 meters above it. I continued 2.5 km to Gråfjellhytta mountain hut at elevation 1012 m, where I met some Norwegian mountaineers from Hemnes Turistforening and had a nice chat and a good cup of coffee with them. The Okstindane mountain peaks and glacier are close to the hut. A new hut is planned to be built in the next valley to the north, because the old rock hut Steinbua there is totally covered with snow each winter.
At 5.10 p.m. I started the 6 km walk back to Innerdalen farm and arrived there at 7.35. There were about 50 flies inside the car, and I had a lot of trouble getting those out. Then I continued towards Mosjöen and an attempt on 66Nx13E.
