14-Sep-2003 -- As a resident of Broken Hill, I decided to try my first visit to a confluence that was a short distance away and easy to reach.
I headed out of Broken Hill at around midday and arrived in Cockburn half an hour later. From Cockburn I turned due north along a track that was in good condition. I followed this track along a fenceline (SA/NSW border?) for about 8km. I simply drove until I hit 32° S and stopped. The confluence was about 100m off the track to the west. From the photos you can see I had very little in the way of obstacles to negotiate to reach the confluence.
After a quick internal celebration and the snapping of a few photos I returned to Broken Hill. It was a pleasant 2 hour jaunt on a Sunday afternoon.
The first image is approx 15m from the confluence smack in the middle of the frame.
I thought the fence marked the NSW-SA border but I later found two border survey marks just north of Cockburn that suggested that the track rather than the fence approximated the actual border.
