(visited by Captain Peter and Werner Furlan)

12-Oct-2003 -- This is the first visit of our two weeks confluence trip through Argentina.

Yesterday, on Oct 11th, (Werner coming from Austria and Captain Peter from Sicily), met at the Central Station of Milan and proceeded to the International Airport of Milano Malpensa, in order to take our direct flight to Buenos Aires (Ministro Pistarini International Airport at Ezeiza), where were arrived today at 08:30 a.m. The rent-a-car which we ordered online a couple of weeks ago, was ready on arrival, and so we proceeded to the first confluence without delay.

We took the Route Nr. 3 and at Cañuelas we stopped at the small Restaurant, "LaParilla", having our first Churrasco (South American Barbecue). Werner, being for the first time in Argentina was immediately enchanted from the scenery. The area is quite humid, and on a small lakwe stopped to watch several swans. Just before entering Las Flores we bent into the Road Nr. 61 in direction General Belgrano, being just an unpaved dirt road and running parallel to an obviously abandoned railtrack.

About 500 metres away from the confluence a bull did expect us, but he was quite peaceful and not at all interested in us or our activities. A rather difficult obstacle was a shallow canal. Werner had the idea to take off his shoes and to wade through it, but Captain Peter thought twice and decided to balance along a fence leading over the water.

The last 300 metres were easy. After taking our victory picture we made the four shots in the various directions, which of course look all very similar. We attach the view to the North and to the South.

The closest Hacienda to the confluence is the Hacienda "La Antigua Loma Negra".

After this visit we proceed on Route Nr.30 towards South until we reached the small town of Rauch. There we took a room at the "Grand Hotel" for 28 Pesos (about9 US$).
