15-Oct-2003 -- After spending the night at the "Gran Hotel" at Punta Alta we passed the
naval base of Puerto Belgrano and drove to the Prefectura Naval of Puerto Rosales, one of the
various ports in the area around Bahia Blanca.
Just when we arrived, the fising boat "Siempre Amabile" came in from the sea. Due to
strong northwesterly gale winds they had discontinued fishing.
So it was useless to ask the skipper for a transport to the confluence, and
our closest point of approach remained the jetty of Puerto Rosales.
The crew of the "Siempre Amabile" began to repair their nets
Isla de Bermejo was not really visible from the jetty. We attach a view in the direction where the island and the confluence is
supposed to be.
The shore in this area is not easily accessible, either there are lacking
roads,
or due to the fact that almost the whole area is a military restricted zone.
So we left the area on route Nr. 51, passing horses, so common in Argentina. And we saw a
poor armadillo,
killed by a car when trying to cross the road.
