07-Oct-2003 -- Whilst planning our trip to Central Australia, I noticed that we would be passing right by this Confluence Point. Even though it has been visited before, it was worth a followup visit as it was over a year since Chris and Karin Weight's visit. It would be interesting to compare visit photos to see if the landscape had changed much due the recent rains.

After about 4 days zig-zagging our way across the Simpson Desert (and finally negotiating a soft and muddy Lake Poeppel) we stopped at the Corner Post for a bit of lunch. I took the opportunity to grab my GPS and Camera and go for a bit of a walk to the Confluence Point. As Chris and Karin pointed out the WGS 84 Confluence Point is 360ish metres from the Corner Post.

I quickly found the point, snapped some photos and returned to the Corner Post to take a few more photos.

We then set out along the QAA Line to Birdsville. Due to recent rains, we had to take diversions around the salt lakes to avoid becoming bogged.
