21-Dec-2003 -- We left Pinhalzinho on monday morning to reach S27W052 and S27W051.

It was raining cats and dogs and the dirt road to get S27W052 was incompatible with our car. So we decided to try the next one. The S27W051 is about 20 meters from the road in the woods, 8 kilometers west of Fraiburgo and very easy to reach.

The Frey family (pronounce frai in Portuguese) left their native land in Germany, in 1919, during the World War One and arrived in Brazil to live in Paraná state. In 1949 they founded Fraiburgo that nowadays is an important apple producer and a tourist center. The apple harvest and the snow (uncommon in Brazil) attract thousands of tourists every winter.
