03-Jan-2004 -- I (Galera Monico) learned about the confluence project by the doctor (Dr. Aranda) of my daugther (Gabriela). I visited the web page of the project and decided to visit the closest confluence point of our region. Cláudio Aranda was also interested in the adventure. We invited two other friends (Molina and Tommaselli). From the web page of the project we knew that this confluence point was imcomplete. We prepared our plan to visit using a road map and a GPS receiver Garmim 12 XL. The distance from my home was approximatelly 43 km.
It was about 4:30 pm when we leaved my house and got the road. It took approximatelly 40 minutes to arrive in the closest point from the road. There, we parked the car and had to walk around 1 km. The picture # 6 is a general view of the region. Just after the first fence (1 m), there was a eletric cable (picture # 8) to protect the property from animals. Jumping this cable, Tommaselli loose the celular phone (which was recovered in the way back). After walking 700 m we had to cross a small stream (very small river), with quite a lot of erosion. In contrast, there was a very nice small waterfall, which is very rare in this regions (picture # 10). Walking more 300 m (approximatelly), we arrived at the confluence point. The landscape at most of this region looks like what we can see in this confluence point.
