#1: General area of confluence

(visited by Syed Ali and Afzal Ali)

07-Jan-2004 -- I came to know about this project through an article in Toronto Star newspaper. I live close to Toronto and most of the confluences have been visited in this area. I planned to visit Pakistan in December 2003 and decided to take this opportunity to visit a confluence there. My family lives in Karachi and the confluence close to that is in the outskirts of the city. So on January 7, 04, my father and I set off for this project in our Suzuki Swift. From the main road, we had to go on to the unpaved road. We asked a boy about the name of this area and found out that it is called “Water Board Colony”. We passed this area and went into the deserted place. “We should have got a jeep to come to this place”, said my father since there was no road and just a way in the sand and we were worried that if our car would break down, it would be very difficult to get some help. Finally we reached the spot. We were quite excited and also a little bit worried as we were not feeling very safe in this deserted area. We took photos, congratulated each other and headed back.
