18-Oct-2003 -- After visiting 9°N 83°W my next trial appeared to be much more difficult. DELTA AMACURO stands for water and swamps. After some questioning at the Guardia National check point (why does any tourist visit this remote place) I crossed the provincial border towards TUCUPITA, the capital of DELTA AMACURO.
The access road to TUCUPITA is less than 10 km away from the CP. Several trials to find a path towards the CP ended in front swampy trenches, like 9,7 km [pic2.jpg], 9,76 km [pic3.jpg], 7,72 km [pic4.jpg] and from the town 7,22 km [pic1.jpg]. I met nice people who showed me the irrigation channel [pic5.jpg] and told me stories about fishing [pic6.jpg]. But it was impossible to explain my strange target.
However with the assistance of a prepared map you should be able to find somebody as guide. A boat may be essential.
