11-Mar-2004 -- This was my last attempted Confluence before leaving the UAE, and I didn't succeed in getting any closer than the beach.

The following information may be useful for those who wish to try:

The Confluence lies about 5000 m west of the port of Mīnā' Ṣaqr, which is definitely out of bounds. There is a small fishing port about 1 km to the north, where I tried to rent a boat, but none of the fishermen was willing to take me - there is a coastguard/police presence at the harbour.

The Hilton Hotel, Ra's al-Khayma, is able to organise deep-sea fishing, and it is about 24 km from here to the Confluence. Alternatively, take your own boat, and launch from somewhere south of Mīnā' Ṣaqr.

Pretend you are viewing this from 5 km and sea level, and you will have a good idea of the scenery!

In the Gulf, a few kilometers from shore. Closest piece of land is the tip of the Ṣaqr Port mole, about 5 km to the SE.
