20-Apr-2004 -- Continuing our journey from Sydney to Birdsville (and back hopefully!), this was to be our second confluence of the day, our first in Queensland.
On the map, I couldn’t believe how close it was on the main road to Thargomindah, and that it was never visited before. Was it on a heavily fenced private property? Were there mad dingos patrolling or worse a nest of Red-Bellied Black Snakes guarding this virginal confluence?
As it turns out, it was a very easy 50m stroll from the road to the confluence across the red sandy soil and Mulga bushes typical of this part of the Australian Outback. The only thing the boyfriend and I had to endure were the millions of flies suddenly discovering these two sweet & juicy lads from the south; thank God for the Aeroguard!
