We set off in our journey to the confluence in a cloudy saturday morning from the city of Pelotas bus station.
We drove to BR-116 heading south until a crossroads signed "matarazzo". We turned right and took an unpaved road, passing by a reservoir, till a mining area, where we turned left in the direction of Pedreiras.
We passed by Pedreiras -- a ghost city, with houses made of stones, without ceiling, and seeming to be abandoned by old workers in the closed mining plant. We got to two successive crossroads, always keeping right until we were back to a state road -- unpaved however.
Driving north, then, we got to a post named "rodeo colorado", the entrance of a path that almost crosses the confluence point. Few meters driving, we got off the car and walked, easily to an open grass area where we the confluence is.
A peaceful area, indeed. We took photographs, made a toast to peace in the world and went back home guessing why not trying to get to another confluence anyday!
