#1: Of the confluence

(visited by Amos Grégory and Amos Mich)

13-Jul-2004 -- We decided, with my family, to make a trip in Iceland, visiting as much as we could with a 4x4 vehicle. Looking on our route on the map, I saw that we could come close to a secondary confluence point, and decided with my father to take this way.

What a way!! Exclusive 4x4 road in lava-fields and sand deserts. The scenery was amazing, and we were just alone: only 2 farmers at the beginning, and 2 trekkers at the end! Well, actually there was an easier way, but I thougt straight down is faster. Not in Iceland!

At 4-5 p.m. we arrived at last near to the point. So we stopped the car, and while my generous parents were preparing something to eat, we went, my brother and I, to the point, 2 kilometers away from the road. It was in a kind of desert, with many volcanic stones. Nothing difficult: just straight down with the GPS. Difficult was to get there with the car, but fortunatly my father is an expert driver.

The weather was pure icelandic: sun, clouds, rain, sun, clouds, rain, sun... Temperature about 14 Celsius Grad, pretty good. Always better than in Switzerland in Sommer.

That was a nice trip in a very nice country.
