09-Aug-2004 -- En VIAJEROS, nos reunimos amigos, conocidos y algunos por conocer, con el objeto de recorrer parte de la gran geografía de Argentina.
Siempre buscamos un pretexto para llegar a algún lugar desconocido.
Con el desafío de "cazar" confluencias hemos encontrado motivo para acercarnos a lugares que quizás no tengan gran interés turístico pero si nos muestran distintos paisajes de este país.
Este año nos propusimos "cazar" unas 20 confluencias en 10 días.
La S32 W68 fué una de ellas, en realidad la quinta.
Fuimos un grupo de 8 personas en 4 camionetas.

El sábado 7 de agosto de 2004 habíamos logrado hacer la S34 W65 y la S33 W66. Por la mañana de ese domingo 8 de agosto llegamos a la S32 W66 y a las tres y media de la tarde habíamos concluído con la S32 W67. Nos quedaban poco mas de tres horas de luz para recorrer los 150 Km que nos separaban del ingreso a la próxima confluencia la S32 W68.
Esta se encuentra en la provincia de San Juan, al sur de una extensa zona medanosa (Los Médanos Grandes), de más de 2.000 Km2 de superficie,
Las fotografías satelitales nos mostraban que debíamos abandonar la RN20 con rumbo norte por poco mas de 3,6 Km a campo traviesa.

Eran poco mas de las seis de la tarde, a una hora del crepúsculo, cuando decidimos abandonar el asfalto. Las púas de los arbustos que esquivábamos, anque pisábamos, tenían mas de 5 cm de largo y metían miedo. El piso era de arena con algunas lomadas.
Luego de haber recorrido unos 800 metros decidimos que sería mejor volver al día siguiente con mas tiempo. En el regreso a la carretera una pichadura de un neumático y una varadura en la arena nos detuvieron hasta que anocheció.
Al día siguiente decidimos atacar por otro lado, por una senda que discurría entre la base de los médanos y la salina que allí se forma.
Los espinos de los lados de la senda (muy cerrada) rayaban los laterales de las camionetas desde el frente a la cola y se cobraron espejos retrovisores y antenas.

Luego de recorrer mas de 30 km por esa precaria huella pasando por varios barreales (ciénagas secas), los instrumentos nos indicaban que estábamos acercándonos a la confluencia.
Cuando el GPS nos indicó 700 metros perpendicular a la derecha, bajamos de los vehículos y comenzamos a caminar. Esquivando la agreste vegetación, en poco mas de 10 minutos llegamos al ansiado quintuple cero en latitud y longitud. S 32:00,000 W68:00,000.
La confluencia estaba lograda.
Habíamos invertido toda la mañana pero lo habíamos conseguido.
Grande fue nuestra sorpresa cuando, regresados a las camionetas y en marcha nuevamente, pasamos a solo 20 metros de la confluencia y 3 Km más adelante, por esa senda, arribamos al asfalto.
Cuanto tiempo, roturas y dolores de cabeza habríamos ahorrado si la tarde anterior nos hubiésemos metido por esa huella, en sentido inverso, tal como lo sugiriera Julián !!!

09-Aug-2004 -- On VIAJEROS (travelers) we meet friends, new and old, with the objective to look over the Great Argentine Geography.
We always have good excuse to find an unknown place.
With the challenge of "hunting" confluences we find a motivation to get closer to places that don’t have many tourist interest but yes they show the beautiful sights of this country.
This year we have the purpose of hunting 20 confluences in 10 days.
The S34 W65 was one of them, really the 5th.
We where 8 peoples and 4 trucks

The Saturday 7 of august we already had made the S34 W65 and the S33 W66.
On the morning of 8 of august we reach the S32 W66 and at 3:30 PM we also hade already made S32 W67
We only hade 3 hours of light to run the 150 km that we had to next confluence the S32 W68.

This confluence is on San Juan Province, at the south of the big sand dune, more than 200 km2 of superficies.
The satellite photographs show us that we have to left the road RN20 with north destination at about 3,6 km off road.
It was later than 6:00PM at almost with one more of light, when we decide to get off the road. The pins of the bushes where about 5 cm long, and frighten us. The terrain was with sand and small dunes.
After running about 800 meters we diced that it was better to came back next day with more time. On the returning two flat tires and a stuck truck stop us in the middle of the night.

On the next day we decide to get in from other side, over a path that was betwen the dunes and the salt dry lagoons.
The pins bushes besides the roads scratched the sides of the trucks ,destroying mirrors and radio antennas.
After running about 30 km over this small path, and dry swamps, the instruments indicated us that we where very close to the confluence.
When the GPS indicated 700 meters to the right , we get down and star walking. After walking 10 minute we arrived the ansiated fith zero latitude and longitude S32:00,000 W68:00,000
This confluence was also success.
It took us all the morning , but we made it.
Big surprised when back to the trucks we pass just at 20 meters from the confluence and 3 km ahead we where back to the road.

How many time, breaks and headache we hade save if the afternoon before, we should get that path on the inverse way as suggested by Julian !!!

09-Aug-2004 -- In VIAJEROS ci riuniamo tra amici, alcuni conosciuti ed altri nuovi, col solo proposito di percorrere e conoscere l’Argentina.
Sempre cerchiamo un pretesto per andare in qualche posto remoto e sconosciuto, al di fuori dei circuiti turistici tradizionali.
La caccia di confluenze e’ un buon motivo per percorrere migliaia di chilometri su strade e stradine sconosciute ai piu’.
Quest’anno ci siamo proposti di visitare 20 confluenze in 10 giorni.

Dopo aver visitato la S32 W67 ci rimangono 3 ore di luce per percorrere 150 Km. Ed arrivare alla prossima, si trova nella provincia di San Juan, in una zona di grandi dune Di sabbia nominata Los Medanos Grandes, che ha una superficie di oltre 2.000 Km2.
La foto satellitale ci dice di uscire dalla RN20 che passa a 3600 metri dal punto, ed entrate in campo aperto, cosi’ facciamo, pero’ i pochi arbusti hanno spine durissime di 5 cm di lunghezza, mettono paura, dopo 800 metri, una foratura ed un insabbiamento decidiamo tornare, sta calando il sole, andiamo nella citta’ piu’ vicina, a 30 Km. Circa a dormire.

La mattina seguente, il 9 Agosto, torniamo indietro, ci inoltriamo in un sentiero stretto, tra arbusti spinosi e spazi aperti sabbiosi, percorriamo piu’ di 30 Km cosi’ arriviamo finalmente a 700 metri dal punto, a camminare, dopo ore siamo arrivati, fatte le foto scopriamo una traccia di veicolo a 20 metri dal punto, il cammino dove siamo passati continuando torna indietro e passa da li’ , per poi arrivare all’asfalto della RN20 a soli 3000 metri, e si che Julian aveva visto quella entrata il pomeriggio anteriore ed aveva suggerito di investigarla.
