20-Nov-2004 -- We found a regional gravel road within 1 km to the Confluence. Setting up the GPS, we received good signal with an indicated accuracy of 3 feet (1 m). We had to walk for about 25 min. through dry veld with shrubs and bushes to reach the Confluence.
We found a land surveyor's mark (white cross visible on the south view) being about 12 meters out to the point as indicated by our GPS. The last picture shows us, Claudine and Georg Mayer of Cape Town, the camera was put onto one of the arms of the surveyor's cross. The temperature on the day was in excess of 30°C, and we were glad to be back at the car within another half hour.
