31-Oct-2004 -- The purpose was to enjoy the holiday and hunt two more confluences in Goiás, each time farther from Brasília. Since our friends went to different places in the holiday, only Kelly and I decided to hunt this confluence. We are the ladies confluence hunters.
We went out from Brasília around 11:30am going to Goiás Velho, where we had a delicious empadão goiano (a typical food). We took a ride at the city, and then we decided to sleep in Itapirapuã, 60km far from Goiás Velho in Jussara’s direction. There, we stayed at the house of a Kelly’s old friend.
On Sunday (Oct. 31st), at 7:30a.m., we started looking for the confluence 16°S 51°W. Twelve kilometers after Jussara, we were at a non-paved road, and the GPS was indicating that we should go straight forward. According to the maps, we should drive as far as a certain point, and then we would have to walk for more 3 or 4 km. However, there was a small road that took us to a group of rocks, which is located at 12 meters far from the confluence. We tried to find someone to give us the permission to enter, but we could not find anyone. Then , we decided to proceed. We walked on the rocks and arrived at a point that was 8 meters far from the confluence. From that point on, it was very dangerous to continue. It was a place where we could see many dissolute rocks and the access was very difficult. We took some photos and went to Jussara to eat pamonhas (a typical food) at 9:30a.m, since we had our mission completed successfully. Then, we went to Aruanã, where we would look for the confluence 15°S 51°W.
