#1: The confluence point lies near this 'triple tree'

(visited by Ross Finlayson and Brian Warkentine)

31-Aug-2006 -- This confluence point lies on the eastern border of Crater Lake National Park - home one of the most spectacular sights in the US. Unfortunately the confluence point itself is much less scenic, as it lies within a bland pine forest.

A series of gravel and dirt roads take you within 300 feet of the confluence point - by itself, close enough for a successful visit. The confluence point itself is near the base of a 'triple tree' - three pine trees lined up right next to one another.

Apart from a National Park boundary sign that we saw, very little else about this confluence point is noteworthy. If you visit it, be sure to take the time to visit Crater Lake as well.
