19-Dec-2013 -- This narrative continues from 11S 49W.

At 20:00 of Tuesday, 17 December, we caught the bus at Palmas city to Goiânia city. This second leg of the trip, much shorter than the first one, would be 850 kilometers long, and, according to the prevision, it would last 14 hours. However, the bus broke and we needed to stay 2 hours at Rialma city, yet in Goiás state. Then, when we arrived at Goiânia, my watch was showing 12:00. I must yet to adjust it, because I had just entered in the Brazilian region that uses saving time, and it turned to show 13:00.

After arriving at the city, I had the good surprise to discover that the bus station lies inside a mall, and there were a lot of hotels around it. This fact allowed me to save a lot of money, due to one of the largest amounts of money spent in Palmas city was with cabs. I checked in a hotel nearby, took a shower and came back to the mall in order to have lunch.

After the lunch, I informed myself about a manner to make the third leg of the trip, because probably, I wouldn’t find a bus from Goiânia to Lavras, a city too small to have bus lines to all Brazilian capitals. The best option I found was to catch a bus from Goiânia to Uberlândia and another from Uberlândia to Lavras.

I spent the remaining day resting in the hotel, because it was raining a lot and it denied me to leave the hotel in order to know the city. About 23:00, I went to the rental car agency and caught the car that I would use to visit Confluences, in the following day.

My plan, as always in these circumstances, would be to attempt three new Confluences. However, I wasn’t optimistic about getting it. In the previous day dedicated to confluence visits, like described in the previous narrative, I had been for a moment with great chances of getting three previewed Confluences, but only got one. And, to make things worse, a thunderstorm fell this whole afternoon and the meteorology said that, on the following day, it would rain the whole day.

On the following day, Thursday, 19 December, I woke up at 6:00, had breakfast, checked out of the hotel and left it at about 7:30, to the first Confluence of the day, 17S 49W, located near Bela Vista de Goiás city, distant about 50 kilometers from Goiânia.

I caught the BR-352 highway, passed near the city and, some kilometers after, I started the leg on dirt road, 3,600 meters long. Against the meteorology prevision published in the previous day, the sky was cloudy, but without rain. Although the dirt road had a lot of puddles, I arrived at 700 meters close to the exact point easily.

I left the car, crossed a fence, hiked by a pasture area and got all GPS zeroes. After the visit, I came back to Goiânia, because the next Confluence lies exactly at the opposite side of the city.
