04-Apr-2004 -- While on an extended Easter holiday visiting friends in Qaṭar with my wife and two sons, we had the chance to visit this Confluence. We started out from our friends' house in the south of Dawḥa (the capital). Before we could head for Salwā Road (the main road from Dawḥa towards Saudi Arabia), we had to make a quick stop at the Traffic Department, as I needed a temporary driving license for Qaṭar to be allowed to drive my friends car. Getting to the Traffic Department was easy, as this was the fourth (and last) trip there to get the temporary license. However, on the way from the Traffic Department on to Salwā Road we managed to take a wrong turn twice.

When we finally made it to the outskirts of Dawḥa on Salwā Road; it was an easy drive towards the Confluence. The Confluence itself is located no more than 3 km from the main road. Just south of the small town of al-Kir`āna, there is a small road heading almost directly towards the Confluence, which took us to within 300 meters of the point. We drove a Nissan Patrol 4x4, so when the GPS said we had passed our target, we took a right turn off the road and continued the remaining few meters off-road.

After a short "zeros-dance", I got all zeros on photo with a GPS accuracy of 5 meters. The Confluence is situated in the middle of a stone and sand desert, with only a few brushes in sight. Not very exciting, but very representative of Qaṭar.
