(visited by Ross Finlayson)

31-Jul-2015 -- After spending the night in the delightful little nation of Liechtenstein - the 6th smallest country on Earth (unfortunately too small to contain a Degree Confluence Point), I continued eastwards, towards Innsbruck. On the way, I made a detour to visit this remarkable Degree Confluence Point.

From satellite imagery, I knew that I’d have to make a short steep hike up a hill, but this hike turned out to much easier than I’d anticipated, because, after passing through the village of Gortipohl, I was able to park my rental car at the end of a gravel doubletrack at 46.99911°N 10.00219°E - just 200 meters from the point. From there, I found a short, steep hiking trail that climbs up into a clearing, containing a holiday home, with a shed nearby. Remarkably, the point turns out to be just alongside one of the corners of this shed.
