07-Jun-2008 -- In einem Interview zum Thema "Degree Confluence Project" wurde ich letztens gefragt, warum wir Punkte mehrfach besuchen - meine Antwort war: "Weil sie sich verändern". Ein schönes Beispiel hierfür ist N 45° E 5°, den ich nun schon zum dritten Mal besucht habe.

Auf unserer Rückfahrt aus Südfrankreich in Richtung Grenoble/Chambery kamen wir direkt am Punkt N 45° E 5° vorbei, der an einer Autobahnraststätte liegt - als ich ihn das erste Mal besuchte war da nur Rasen, beim zweiten Besuch eine Baustelle und nun fanden wir vor Ort ein fertiges Gebäude einer Autovermietung.

Auf Grund des Zauns kamen wir diesmal nur auf 18 Meter an den Punkt heran, es war auch schon zu spät, um nach Einlaß zu fragen, also machten wir schnell die benötigten Bilder, hoben den dortigen GeoCache und machten uns auf die Weiterfahrt in Richtung Grenoble.

07-Jun-2008 -- Recently I´ve been asked in an interview about the Degree Confluence Project why we re-visit some points - my answer was "because they change". A fine example for that is N 45° E 5° which I´ve now visited for the third time.

On our way home from southern france we took the freeway to Grenoble/Chambery - there the point can be found at a motorway service area. When I visited the point for the first time there was just green grass, on the next visit there was a construction site and now there is a building of a car rental company.

Due to a fence we could get only as near as 18 metres to the point. It was too late to ask for permission to enter the area so we took the necessary photos, found the nearby GeoCache and continued our way to Grenoble.
