26-May-2008 -- I learned about the Degree Confluence Project just a few days ago from my friend (Frank). Then we looked up at the confluence point map, and tried to figure out which point is still need to be found and reachable for us.

So we decided to go to this point 4.1 km NNW of Lebakdenok, West Java, Indonesia (6°S 106°E). Someone already tried to go to this confluence, but they didn't make it, it is near from our place, so we tried to do this.

The confluence is inside the Krakatau Steel area, which is a very large industrial area. We tried to get as close as possible to the confluence point until we reached 5.99596°S 106.00175°E. Then we got stuck in front of one of the factory gates (CRM factory). We tried to ask permit to enter the factory to go to the confluence but the security did not allow us to enter the gate. They suggested us to go to the Security main office to get the permission.

Then we went there, but they still did not allow us to enter the factory. And they asked us to go to the central office, public relation office, which is almost 2.5 km away from the confluence. We went there, we tried to make them sure that we won't do anything harmful for the factory, we just want to go to the confluence and take some picture, but they still did not allow us. So, there was the end of our trip to the confluence.
