07-Jul-2024 -- This is the 3rd out of 10 reports visiting confluence points during a 10-day bicycle trip from Rovaniemi to the Norwegian Sea and back. The story starts from 67°N 26°E and continues from 68°N 27°E.
The confluence is south of the settlement Pikku-Peura, squeezed in between the main north-south highway no.4 (E75) and the lake Karppivuono. In order to visit the point, I left the highway and took the former road, that climbs here quite steeply. This former road is partially asphalted and is a convenient starting point for a short hike of 250 m. However, the terrain lets the hiker ascend steeply on a mountain of 100 m in height. I found the confluence point almost at the top on that mountain in a beech and pine forest. As usual, there is a blueberry groundcover.
The most interesting features were huge boulders that I saw on the hike. But also the confluence is under a huge rock.
After the visit, I continued that former road northwards until I hit the main road again. For the night, I took a cabin along the road (District Inari).
