O GPS marcou 4,57 quilômetros do ponto exato.

07-Jan-2013 -- This narrative continues from 08S 37W.

In the third day of the trip, we can wake up a bit later, and rest of the two previous days in that we travel all day. My wife, my step-daughter and my son, apparently more tired than me, prefer spend all morning in the hotel. Then, I went alone to know Aracaju city, which I had never visited before, and make a first reconnaissance of 11S 37W confluence region, which lies offshore and in front of the city.

I went straight to Atalaia beach, the most known of the city. The beach is very beautiful, very well care, with lakes, leisure areas and an oceanarium. In the oceanarium and in a travel agency I asked to some people if there is any possibility of rent a ship to go up to the confluence. The answer was negative. There isn’t any alternative.

With few hope of successfully register the confluence, I went to the closest point of the beach and take the photos, with the intention of register an incomplete visit. The GPS marked 4.57 kilometers to the exact point. Then, I visited the oceanarium and, later, I would follow the beaches in order to find any alternative.

I started to follow the beaches, heading to south, and, at a place, I saw two ships on the sand. I stopped the car and asked to a person who owns those ships. The two ships are disabled, but I got the information that in that place there are fishers that go to the sea very early in order to throw the fishing net and came back about 4:00 PM in order by retract it. As it was only about 11:00 AM, I decided to come back to the hotel.

Back to the hotel, my wife, my step-daughter and my son had already lunched. Instead to have lunch in the hotel too, I prefer to take them to the Atalaia beach, in order to enjoy it while I have lunch, waiting the time of the return of the fishers.

After spending some time at Atalaia beach, we came back to the region of the fishers and stay there during some time. We didn’t wait a lot of time, and soon I saw a ship coming from the sea. When it stopped at the beach, I went to talk with the occupants, and we get to plan my visit to the point. The distance at the sea would be a bit greater then at Atalaia beach, about 5.5 kilometers. The round trip will cost R$ 200.00 (about US$ 98.00). They went to catch more fuel and I went to catch my GPS and my camera.

We traveled about 5.5 kilometers in about 40 minutes, with a speed of about 9 km/h. Two fishers, named Van and Felipe, accompanied me. During the travel, we didn’t lose the view of buildings of Aracaju city, and we approximated of some oil platforms in the area. When we arrived near the point, I took the photos with some hardness, due to chops and swinging ship. At the point where I took the photos, we are 81 meters close to the exact point. People that already visited offshore confluences know that it’s almost impossible to get all GPS zeroes. The visit was registered at kilometer 1,423 of the trip. This was my fist confluence visit at Sergipe state, and it is the first visit of this confluence. And, finally, this visit completes all three confluences of Sergipe state.

We arrived at the beach at sunset and came back to the hotel, where we had dinner and spent one more night. This day was extremely important to rest and face the second half of the trip. In this second half, there isn’t any new confluence to visit, due to all relatively easy confluences had already visited in previous occasions.

In the following day, we left Aracaju very early again, at 06:00 AM, and followed by BR-101 highway. We entered Bahia state and passed near 12S 38W confluence, which I visited at November 2012. At Feira de Santana city, we caught BR-116 highway. We passed near 13S 40W confluence, which I visited at June 2012. At noon, we stopped to have lunch. After, we followed, and passed near 15S 41W confluence, also visited in June 2012.

Before sunset, we arrived at Vitória da Conquista city, where we spent the night. At this day, the only one of the four days, we managed to conclude the trip before 06:00 PM. We travelled in this day 711 kilometers.

In the following day, we started at 06:00 AM again to the last day of the trip. We crossed the last state border, entering in Minas Gerais state. We passed by Teófilo Otoni city and, some kilometers after, we stopped to have lunch. After, we passed by Governador Valadares, Ipatinga and João Monlevade cities. We finally arrived at Belo Horizonte about 06:30 PM (or 07:30 PM local time, because Minas Gerais, unlike all other states where we passed, has saving time), after driving in this day 844 kilometers. In all trip from Fortaleza to Belo Horizonte, we travelled by 3,006 kilometers.

As we will come back to Fortaleza, the narrative hasn’t finished yet. This narrative continues on 16S 42W.
