(visited by Ross Finlayson)

31-Mar-2023 -- While in Mildura, Victoria, I was eager to try to visit this Degree Confluence Point - last visited more than 15 years ago - just a short distance to the North in neighbouring New South Wales. Satellite imagery showed that this point was close to a dirt road - but how best to get to this road? I figured that the best option was to take Fletchers Lake Rd to [-33.99326,142.03052] - about 3 km northeast of the point. When I got there, I found a doubletrack road heading westward. I took this doubletrack road until it got a bit too sketchy for my rental car, and parked about 1.5 km northeast of the point.

From there, it was an easy hike the rest of the way. En route, I had to pass between a couple of small lakes, and at one point, a curious kangaroo stared at me from the distance. About 200m from the point, I crossed a fence that runs beside the dirt road (that passes near the point). The point lies in a flat, desert-like area, somewhat reminiscent of the several desert sagebrush Degree Confluence Points that I’ve visited in the western U.S.

Here is a remote-controlled aerial video of this confluence point.
