11-Apr-2024 -- I’m in northwestern Arkansas (Bentonville) for a couple of days of mountain biking, before returning to California. Today, after my mountain bike ride, I drove Southeast to revisit this easy Degree Confluence Point, which I had previously visited during my ‘Round the US’ tour in 2011. After passing through the small town of Elkins and crossing the historic one-lane White River Bridge, I found a place to park on the side of County Road 44. Finding a place to park was the most difficult part of visiting this point, which lies just a few hundred feet away, in a grassy farm field next to the road. There was even an ungated entrance at [36.00097,-93.99757], so I didn’t even have to cross a gate or fence. The point looks exactly the same as it did 13 years ago.
I sent up my drone to get an overhead view. I was hoping to fly West over the town of Elkins, but couldn't get very far, because of an extremely strong headwind.
