23-Apr-2006 -- Мистическая восьмерка

Переночевав рядом с посещенной накануне точкой N59E47 и позавтракав, мы в полвосьмого утра стартуем назад в Боговарово, и далее пути нашего заезда, в сторону Пыщуга. Проезжаем райцентры Вохма и Павино, в 18 км от Павино автодорога подходит ближе всего к искомой точке. Точка N58°59’28”E46°02’05” лежит в 2,2 км от цели, но эти 2 километра предстоит идти по лесу, преодолевая пару ручьев. Поэтому мы едем южнее, до Средней Гривы и оставляем машину в точке N58°58’06”E46°00’12”, откуда до цели 3,5 км и вправо уходит небольшой проселок.

Этот проселок нельзя считать проезжим, и мы, взяв с собой фотоаппараты, GPS, сок и шоколад, отправляемся в путь по полевой дороге (фото №6). В начале пути мы встречаем местных жителей, празднующих пасху и находящихся навеселе в этот ранний час. Дорога, оставив позади деревню, идет в поле. Через 3,5 км дорога входит в лес. Причем по мере углубления в лес снега становится все больше и больше. Нас уже одолевают сомнения, апрель ли сейчас? Еще метров 700 мы идем по лесной дороге, но искомая точка остается правее. В том месте, где дорога начинает круто спускаться к ручью, мы, наконец, решаемся сойти с дороги и начать движение прямо на точку, до которой остается примерно 400 м. Сначала мы преодолеваем два неглубоких оврага, дальше идем вроде ровно, но трудно, так как в лесу много поваленных деревьев, лежит снег. Он не глубокий, но под ним, как правило, лужи воды.

Ну вот и пришли! Точка расположена на небольшой полянке, сплошь покрытой снегом. Точка помечена загадочной восьмеркой на снегу. Вообще, конфлюэнтные точки часто чем-то отмечены. Например, камень на точке N60E41 (в ячменном поле). Так и эта точка. На месте этой точки расположена поляна, хотя кругом – глухой лес. И посреди поляны на снегу нарисована большая правильная восьмерка (фото №8). Для полной мистики хотелось верить, что это следы кораблей инопланетян, но вряд ли. Скорее всего, результат падения снега с ветки.

Теперь назад! Выбравшись на дорогу, мы перекусываем припасенным шоколадом и поздравляем друг друга с 4-й точкой нашего путешествия. Не торопясь, возвращаемся к машине. Весь путь занял у нас около 3 часов. Уже в конце пути сплошная с утра облачность разорвалась, и вдруг выглянуло солнце. Для Димы Волгина охота закончилась. Мы доезжаем до Верхнеспасского. Дима будет автостопить машины на юг до Шарьи, откуда по транссибу можно уехать в Москву, а нам – на запад, к точке N59E45.

23-Apr-2006 -- Mystic "Eight"

Having spent a night near the point N59E47, which we visited yesterday, and having had breakfast at 7:30am, we start towards Bogovarovo and further back upon yesterday’s route. We pass the district centers Vokhma and Pavino. After 18 km past Pavino, the road has its nearest approach to the point N59E46. It is 2.2 km from the point N58°59’28”E46°02’05”, but in these 2 kilometers we needed to walk through the forest, crossing a couple of creeks. Therefore, we drive to the south to Srednyaya Griva and park the car at the point N58°58’06”E46°00’12”. Here there is a small dirt road to the right, and 3.5 km to our target.

That dirt road wouldn’t be considered passable (pic #6), and we depart by foot, of course having taken the GPS, photo cameras, juice and some chocolates. At the beginning of our way we meet local citizens who have just celebrated Easter [Russian orthodox] and who are evidently tipsy after a drinking party (early in the morning). Having left the village, the road leads us to the field, and after 3.5 km it enters a forest. The deeper we go into the forest, the more (and more) snow there is. We are beset by doubts, whether is it April now? Another 700 m we go on the forest road, but our target is located somewhere to the right. In the place where the road begins to go down to the creek, we decide to leave the road and begin to walk directly to the point. It is 400 m to go. At the beginning we overcome two shallow ravines and then our path is flat but arduous, because there are a lot of fallen logs in the forest, snow and pools of water under it.

Finally we did it! The point is located in a small glade, fully covered by snow. The point itself is marked by a mysterious digit 8. Generally speaking confluence points are often marked somehow. For instance there is a stone on the point N60E41 in a barley field. So this CP is. There is a glade on the point while dense forest is around. And there is a large true digit “eight” drawn on the snow (pic #8). For entire mysticism one can believe that’s an UFO’s footprint. But it is hardly so, most likely it is a result of snow fallen from the tree’s branch.

Now it’s time to go back to the car. We get on the dirt road and have a humble lunch with juice and chocolates we stored. We congratulate each other on the 4^th confluence point of our journey. Without hurrying up we return to the car. The entire way took 3 hours. Just at the end of our walking the dense cloudiness is torn and suddenly the Sun appeared.

That’s the end of CP-hunting for Dmitry Volgin, so he must go home. We drive up to Verkhnespasskoe where Dmitry will hitch-hike some vehicles in Southern direction, towards Shar’ya, which is on the Trans-Siberian railway. While our way leads to the West, to conquer the next point, N59E45.
