05-Feb-2005 -- Нестримні у своєму бажанні бути зарахованими до лав світової спільноти «конфлюенсоманів», та прагнучи поглибити власні знання щодо географії рідного краю, вранці 5 лютого ми вирушили в дальню путь.

Як і два тижні тому ця путь починалася (тепер о 7:30 ранку) з головного міського автовокзалу. Але нас лишилося тільки двоє – інші учасники дрімтіму не змогли подолати бар’єрів, що їх щедро створює доля на шляху екстремалів-аматорів. Звичайно, конфлюенції розташовані в межах досяжності важко віднести до числа складних, тому доводиться виявляти терпіння, чекаючи якихось природних катаклізмів. Цього разу нам неабияк пощастило – вдарив найлютіший мороз за останні декілька років. На протязі тижня він тримався на рівні -13-17°С, а у день «Х» сягнув позначки -23°С. Не Сибір, але для нас досить круто.

Отож дві години (75 км) у промерзлому автобусі – і ми десантувалися у 5,7 км від потрібного, як кажуть на англійщині, «інтерсекшону», біля розлоги річки Хомора. Здивований нашими намірами, але чемний постовий міліціянт посміхнувся у сиві вуса та гостинно запросив нас заходити погрітися на зворотньому шляху.

Про власне пішоходну частину подорожі сказати майже нічого, окрім – холодно. Холодно. Холодно. Голі поля з рідкими деревами та низками чиїхось слідів. За показниками GPS-у наша конфлюенція знаходилася посеред величезного незайманого снігового поля, по якому ми й вирушили навпростець. Довелось пройти близько 800 м по снігу глибиною 10-30 см. Rock’n’roll forever! Знімки, радість і – гайда до лісу розводити багаття, віддавати шану припасам, фотографувати тамтешні пейзажі вкупі з натюрмортами. Окремо хочеться згадати продукти компаній «Nemiroff» (медова з перцем) та «Konica Minolta» (dimage 7hi та dimage A2). Такі різні, вони були як завжди корисними та надійними у екстремальних умовах.

Шлях додому був дещо важчим – довго чекали попутнього транспорту (а підступний міліціянт вже здав зміну), але воно того варте.

05-Feb-2005 -- After a small break we have gone to the point of crossing of the 50^th parallel and the 27^th meridian. Unfortunately, from our team this time only two persons could go on the campaign. On February 5 at 7:30am we went in a route from a road service station in Khmelnitskiy city. Then our route lay to the north, in the direction of Shepetovska. Having driven on the bus 75 kilometers we left at the "gritsevskiy" crossroad.

There was wonderful frosty weather. We planned to come back by train (two kilometers south of the point there is the Verbovtsy railway station), but the traffic police dissuaded us from such an option and advised us to return to the crossroads because, as they said, it will be easer and faster to leave. The GPS has shown that we need to pass 5.7 more kilometers due West in the direction of the village Chetyrboki. And here, with souls heated by the pure sunny sky and the desire to visit the point, and bodies cooled by the frost, we have begun the walking portion of our trip.

Slowly, stopping to take some photos, and to drink hot tea, we have passed 5 kilometers. We used digital cameras, a Minolta Dimage 7Hi and a Minolta Dimage A2. Both cameras have adequately coped with the job at rather low temperature (-17... -20°C), but all of us do not recommend breaking the range of operating temperatures declared by the manufacturer.

We have passed the last 800 meters on a level snow-covered field and at 11:45am the GPS has shown us that we on the place. Having made all the necessary photos, we have passed 120 more meters to the West and have gone deeply into a small wood. There, having cleared snow away from a small platform, we have lit our already-becoming-traditional small fire and have celebrated our second visit to a point of crossing of a meridian and a parallel.

At 2:30pm we have headed back. Making the same way back, at 4:35pm we have again left on "gritsevsky" crossroad. But we have been strongly disappointed. Probably we have got in some backup in the movement of buses because we had to wait there almost 2 hours. The award to us for this delay was only a beautiful sunset. At 6:20pm we have left aside Khmelnitskiy and about 8pm we were already at our homes.

Now we are choosing for ourselves our next point.
