09-Oct-1998 -- This was five miles northeast of New Orleans, LA on what would be referred to as the wrong side of the tracks. I had to drive down what I think used to be a railroad service road for about two miles off of the main road in a very run down section of town just to get to the intersection I'm taking this picture from. The true confluence is approximately 30 meters on the other side of this non moving train and there were no other intersections anywhere close so this was as close as I could get. I was going to walk across the tracks between the cars of the train but I was on a business trip and had a business associate travelling with me and it was hard enough convincing her that we should even be stopping in the first place.
